Over the past two years, Emily has completed a Level 3 Business apprenticeship after deciding college alone just wasn’t for her. She chose an apprenticeship so she could earn while she learned and one that would give her skills she could apply to any chosen career.
“I was unsure what I wanted to do, so I chose my apprenticeship as the skills I would learn would set me up for work in any job role. Completing my apprenticeship has not only given me a structure and routine, it has also given me an insight into an actual workplace.
“Through working at HMS and completing my apprenticeship, I have become more confident and learnt new skills I was never taught in school. I now know what it’s like to be an integral part of a team and I’m grateful to everyone who has helped me to achieve my qualifications.”
Now employed full time at HMS to provide business support to the Planning Team, Emily has been working with the team throughout the last year and has had to adapt to new ways of working in the wake of national lockdown’s and COVID-19.
“HMS has been fantastic throughout the last year and have supported me with online courses, regular virtual meetings and check ups to ensure I am fully set up to work from home, providing technical support where needed. However, they have also supported me with my emotional and mental health during this time and I am thankful for everything they have offered me.
“I’m proud of everything I have achieved during my apprenticeship and now know that I can tackle anything that’s thrown at me!”
