Leading North West building and maintenance contractor HMS is delivering a major upper storey extension project on behalf of specialist insecticides producer Yanco at its base in south Liverpool.
Yanco has owned the building in Estuary Commerce Park since around 2010 and major refurbishment and extension is now required. HMS was chosen over other contractors via their positive working relationship with a local multi-disciplinary private practice offering property and construction consultancy services.
The project is now underway to complete an upper storey extension that will host three administrative offices, along with a further two offices on the ground floor. This will provide extra space and flexibility, along with an additional corridor for easy access. The new offices will be constructed above the existing ground floor entrance and newly cleared spaces. A new steel staircase will be added with steel support to create the new mezzanine spaces.
Further planned work will include the completion of internal walls and doors, glazed screens for room separation, and electrical and installations. There will also be minor alterations to external paving.
Operatives worked out of hours to re-route the main water supply so that Yanco staff onsite would not experience any water loss while working.
Around 30 tons of waste has already been removed from the site as part of the refurbishment and works are on schedule to complete within the 10-week programme. HMS’ skilled operatives will ensure the high-quality delivery the company has become known for as the refurbishment is completed.
