Consistent service excellence is a key priority at HMS. All of our operatives need the very latest knowledge and best-in-class skillsets to deliver the quality build, maintenance and repair work we demand at each site visit.
That’s why we launched our new Learning Hub last month. Offering a comprehensive selection of courses through high-quality digital learning, this sophisticated virtual classroom enables staff and managers to monitor and manage their individual training requirements more effectively than via traditional offline systems.
We have worked closely with our partners at Unius Learning to create an innovative online platform, which streamlines the training process and provides a more agile, user friendly system for all users.
The focus is on high-priority Mandatory modules, including Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Awareness, Health and Safety Awareness, and Working at Height. The next phase of roll out will see the Learning Hub feature on operatives’ Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), providing even more agile training opportunities.
Liam Welch, People & Learning Advisor at HMS, said: “Early results confirm that moving to consistent digital learning is having a big impact.
“In just two weeks since launch, 66 HMS operatives have completed 180 refresher and development training modules - ensuring knowledge across our key operational areas is consistent and kept up-to-date,” he added.
Managing Director Paul Worthington said, “Delivering training in this way both upskills staff and enhances their confidence using IT systems. I’m delighted that the Learning Hub is already adding value, both within the organisation and on behalf of our clients.”
