Coronavirus - Maintenance services and keeping you safe

Updated: 27 May 2020

The safety of our customers, staff and contractors remains our top priority and as the situation evolves, here are some important updates in regards our services:

Our public receptions

All public receptions are closed until further notice. Please use the website, phone or email if you need to contact us.

Please note that we are requesting that you consider how urgent your request or call is before getting in touch.

Construction Activities

Following advice from the Construction Leadership Council, we have recommenced construction activity on all our sites, where safe systems of work could be effectively implemented.

All HMS staff are following social distancing measures, hand hygiene practices and have the correct PPE to help limit the spread of COVID-19. These processes are in addition to our already stringent Health and Safety procedures and follow the latest advice from Public Health England and the Government.

Maintenance Activities

HMS is committed to ensuring our customers safety and your welfare is our number one priority, which is why as of, Tuesday 24 March 2020, we are only delivering ‘emergency’ and ‘home from hospital’ repairs. Following updated Government advice HMS is in the process of planning routine and planned maintenance activity. HMS staff will be contacting customers to discuss how operations can be safely and effectively undertaken.

Our staff will continue to ask you a series of questions to assess whether it is safe to send someone out to your home.

Activity such as Gas Servicing, Cyclical Maintenance, Cleaning Services and Greenspace Maintenance have been maintained throughout the period. It is vital that these areas are maintained to ensure the health, welfare and safety of our customers and communities.

Over the last few weeks, we have also been restarting works on vacant properties so we can work to support Local Authorities across the North West and Wales to house key workers and vulnerable customers quickly when lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Reporting repairs

HMS is committed to ensuring our customers safety and your welfare is our number one priority, which is why as of, Tuesday 24 March 2020, we are only delivering ‘emergency’ and ‘home from hospital’ repairs. After liaison with our various clients, all non-essential internal planned maintenance work has been postponed in line with Government advice.

Our staff will continue to ask you a series of questions to assess whether it is safe to send someone out to your home.

Compliance activity such as Gas Servicing and core Cleaning services will continue, although with additional provisions around protecting customers, staff and the public.
